Memes (N - Q)

The following is an alphabetical list of Memes, from N to Q.

NIGHT EYES
Classes: Lrn Meme [Learnable]
Activation Time: Standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 minute + 1 minute/memory (D)
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (Harmless)
Blue Opposition: Yes
Recharge: 4
Template: An effect that grants darkvision; an effect that grants a bonus to Perception.
Your eyes glow with a black light, and you can see in the dark.
You gain darkvision, with a base distance of 60 feet. This darkvision is affected by your Perception score as normal.
Memory: For every three points of memory allocated, increase the base distance by 20 feet.
Belief: The duration of this meme becomes 1 hour + 1 hour/memory allocated.
If you have at least four memory allocated, your darkvision can pierce unnatural darkness, such as that caused by a darkness spell, if your take 10 on a memeticist level check is sufficient to beat DC 11 + Force-user level of the origin of the effect.
If you have at least eight memory allocated, you can also see creatures with the invisible status, if your take 10 on a memeticist level check is sufficient to beat DC 11 + Force-user level of the origin of the invisible status.
If you have at least twelve memory allocated, you also gain the true seeing status.

OBJECT LORESIGHT
Classes: Aka Meme
Activation Time: Standard action
Range: Touch
Target: One item
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates (Object)
Blue Opposition: Yes (Object)
You touch an object, giving you a clearer understanding of its history.
If the object fails a Will save (note that only attended or Force items can attempt such a save), you learn something about the item.

Facts Learned
1st Age of object.
2nd Name of last creature to touch the object, if any (other than you).
3rd Race of last creature to touch the object, if any (other than you).
4th Name of the object’s creator (a natural object, like a rock, was created by Nature).
5th Race of the object’s creator, if any.
6th Object’s intended purpose.
7th Material(s) that makes up the object.
8th Location of the object’s creation.
9th Name of the most recent owner of the object, if any.
10th Force ability of the object, if any (random if more than one).
11th Most significant event the item has been present for of which you are unaware.

Multiple uses of this meme allow you to gain more information. If you already know all of the above, you continue to learn more significant events, though their significance decreases over time.
Memory: For each point of memory you have invested in this meme, you learn an additional fact per use.
Belief-Space: While this meme is part of your belief-space, you have the ability to incorporate an object's history into your understanding of the world, giving you insight into its function. This gives you a +1/two memory insight bonus to any checks made to manipulate an object on which you have used this meme. This bonus lasts for 1 round/memory invested.
While this meme is bound to your belief-space, you have a preoccupation with the importance of inanimate objects and the role they play in the creation of history; in particular, this preoccupation overrides your interest in persons, places, or events. You cannot have this meme bound to your belief-space and any other loresight meme bound at the same time.

POISON CLAW
Classes: Lrn Meme [Learnable]
Activation Time: Standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 round + 1 round/memory or until discharged; see text
Saving Throw: None (see text)
Blue Opposition: Yes
Recharge: 4
Template: An effect that deals poison damage.
Your weapons are suddenly enveloped in a nasty poison.
For the duration of this meme, your next melee attack deals an additional 1d6 poison damage. Once you successfully deal poison damage with this meme, its duration ends.
Memory: For every 2 points of memory allocated, increase the damage dealt by 1d6. For every 6 points of memory allocated, this meme can affect one additional attack.
Belief: If you hit a creature with this meme, they must also make a Fortitude save. If the creature fails, the creature also takes ongoing poison damage equal to the memory allocated to this meme, with a duration of 1 round + 1 round per four memory allocated.

PREDICT SYSTEM
Classes: Aka Meme
Activation Time: 1 minute
Range: Personal
Effect: One prediction
Duration: See text
Saving Throw: None
Blue Opposition: No
You utilize the Blue as a source of processing and predictive power, allowing you to predict what will occur in the future.
When you use this meme, you effectively put a tracer effect in the timeline at the moment the activation ends.
From the moment the activation ends, you are predicting the future based upon the infinite possibilities that stretch out before you, using the Blue to perform quantitative analysis on how things are and showing you what is likely to be true based upon actions. Given that it is your prediction, you can continue to take actions, and this meme "runs" in the background while you do so.
The limiting factor for this meme is variables. Whenever a die roll is made, for any reason, you roll d%. If the result is 10 or less, the prediction immediately ends, and you have two choices: you can either return to the moment when you activated this meme, or you can choose to accept the prediction (by not changing what you did while predicting). You must make this decision before the outcome of the action is known (in essence, this failure chance represents your inability to track all the variables, and thus are not able to predict beyond that point).
Each successive die roll, the chance of failure increases by 10%.
You can choose to end this meme's effect at any time, not just when you roll below the chance of failure. If you do, you have two choices: you can either return to the moment when you activated this meme, or you can choose to accept the prediction (by not changing what you did while predicting).
The presence of a creature or Force item that is Chaos- or Time-aligned that becomes involved in the prediction at any point automatically doubles the rate of increase of failure for each die (thus, after each roll, the chance of failure increases by 20%), regardless of how minor their interaction with the prediction.
If your prediction attempts to involve time travel that would violate causality (that is, any time travel back in time), it automatically fails at the point just before the time travel would occur.
Memory: For every three points of memory you have invested in this meme, reduce the initial chance of failure by 5%. You can reduce the failure chance below 0%; if you do, those results have no chance of failure and the meme automatically continues, but the chance of failure increases by 10% for each roll regardless (thus you can reduce the chance of failure to -25%; after the first roll, it would be -15%; after the second, -5%; after the third, 5%; and so forth).
Belief-Space: While this meme is part of your belief-space, you gain momentary glimpses of the most likely outcome of events in the immediate vicinity, granting you a +2 insight bonus to initiative per memory invested. However, sometimes the predictions are wrong, causing you to zig when you should have zagged, giving you a -1 penalty to Reflex saves per memory invested.

PURGE EXPERIENCE
Classes: Aka Meme
Activation Time: Full-round action
Range: Close (25 feet + 5 feet/2 memory invested)
Target: One creature
Duration: 1 round + 1 round/3 memory invested
Saving Throw: Will negates
Blue Opposition: Yes
You reach into a creature's personal memory, and purge their experiences, robbing them of their abilities temporarily.
You grant the target one negative level.
If the target has negative levels, positive and negative levels cancel each other on a one-for-one basis.
This effect is considered a status ailment.
Memory: For every 4 points of memory you have invested in this meme, grant an additional negative level.
Belief-Space: While this meme is part of your belief-space, you are particularly sensitive to experiences you have. You gain a +1% bonus to XP you gain while this meme is bound. You cannot have this meme and the boost experience meme bound at the same time.

QUERY
Classes: Aka Meme
Activation Time: 1d8+1 rounds
Range: Personal
Effect: One response
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Blue Opposition: No
You let your mind become one with the akashic record, seeking an answer to a question.
You align your mental processes with the Blue, allowing you to access it deeper than you can casually. This gives you unparalleled ability to answer questions and learn information about the world.
You may ask the Blue a question, of any complexity. More complex questions have a greater chance to fail, as attempting to correlate information from throughout the whole of memory is a difficult and complex process.
The base chance of success is 50%. More complex questions reduce this, while simpler questions improve it; in general, a complex question will have a success chance of 25%, while simple questions will have a success chance of 75%. If you succeed, you learn the answer to your question. If you fail, you do not, and the chance of success for asking the question again is reduced by 25%.
If you are interrupted while activating this meme, you can begin where you left off if you activate it again with the same question within a number of rounds equal to your Intelligence modifier. Otherwise, you must start over (rolling a new activation time).
Memory: For each point of memory you have invested in this meme, the chance of success increases by 5%.
Belief-Space: While this meme is part of your belief-space, you become more inquisitive, and your mind automatically turns to the Blue when pondering a particular question or situation; however, this introspection often leads you on mental tangents, inhibiting your ability to notice the world around you. You gain a +1/two memory invested bonus to all Knowledge checks, and suffer a -1/memory invested penalty to all Perception-based checks.
