Earth Gift Descriptions

The following are the earth gifts in alphabetical order.

 

DIG

You gesture, bringing your hands down sharply, and before you the earth gives way.
The area you choose immediately descends five feet. (Creatures gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls made against targets at a lower elevation.)
Make a natural attack against Reflex of any creatures in the area whose space does not extend outside the affected area. If you hit, the creature remains in the area; otherwise, the creature can move to any adjacent square.

 

DUSTSTORM

You slam your foot into the ground, and dust rises, obscuring vision.
The area becomes filled with dust and rocky debris. The dust obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature within 5 feet has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker can’t use sight to locate the target).
A moderate wind (11+ mph) disperses the dust in 4 rounds; a strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the dust in 1 round.

 

EARTHBIND

You clench your fist in a creature's direction, and stone rises to hold them fast.
Make a natural attack against the target. If you hit, the target is immobilized for the duration.

 

EARTHGLIDE

You slide up to your speed. Each square you leave becomes difficult terrain. (Forced movement, such as push, pull, and slide, does not provoke opportunity attacks.)

 

EARTHSHIFT

INDOMITABLE STONE

You gain protect and immunity to forced movement. (A creature with protect halves all physical damage taken.)

LANDSLIDE

You sharply raise both of your hands, and the earth before you shudders and surges forward.
Make a natural attack against all creatures in the area. If you hit, you deal potency 4 earth damage; you deal half damage on a miss.
You push all creatures in the area 4 squares.

 

LIFT

The target square becomes elevated by an additional 5 feet; this additional height is supported by a column of stone.

 

QUAKE

You stomp your foot, and the ground trembles beneath your strength.

QUICKSAND

You make a sharp twisting motion, and the earth obeys by twisting itself into quicksand.
You create a zone of difficult terrain.
When any creature that begins its turn in the zone, make a natural attack against that creature's Reflex. If you hit, the creature slides one square towards the center of the zone and is immobilized until the start of its next turn. If a creature begins its turn in the center of the zone, that creature begins suffocating.

 

ROCK GAOL

You clasp your hands together sharply, and a creature becomes encased in rock.
Make a natural attack against the target. If you hit, the target is encased in rock: the target gains disabled, immobilized, ongoing potency 2 earth damage, and is immune to other effects.
The rock created by this gift can be destroyed. It has your defenses and hit points equal to your healing surge value. If the rock is destroyed, the target's eject status immediately ends. The rock can be moved as though it were a creature.

 

ROCK PISTON

You punch, and the earth follows your example.
Make a natural attack against the target. If you hit, you deal potency 4 earth damage to the target, and you can push the target up to 20 feet away from the nearest surface.

 

SOOTHE EARTH

Palm down, you gesture to the horizon, and the earth flattens itself.
Remove all difficult terrain from the area.

 

SPIRE BURST

You shoot your fist into the air, and the earth follows suit.
You create a wall of stone 1 square long and 3 squares tall that occupies at least one of the target's squares. This forces the target to move, but who decides where the target moves is dependent upon your attack roll (see below); regardless of who moves the target, the target must end in a space that is adjacent to the wall.
Make a natural attack against the target. If you hit, you deal potency 6 earth damage to the target, the target is immobilized for the duration, and you choose which direction the target moves. If you miss, you deal half damage, the target is immobilized until the end of its next turn, and the target determines where it moves.

 

STONE

You slam your foot into the ground, producing a sizeable stone, which you then throw at your target.
Make a ranged natural attack against the target. If you hit, you deal potency 4 earth damage.

 

STONE SPIKES

You spread your fingers into a claw and lift, and tiny stone spikes emerge from the ground.
You create a zone of stone spikes in the area. The zone is treated as difficult terrain.

 

STONEFIST

You slam your fist into the ground and pull it out, now covered in stony plates.
You can make unarmed attacks as though you were proficient; your unarmed attacks gain a +2 power bonus to their potency, and deal half their damage as earth damage.

 

STONEWALL

Effect: A stone wall, up to 5 feet high

You gesture rapidly with both hands, raising a stony protrusion to protect yourself or an ally.
When you or an ally is targeted by a ranged attack, you raise a stone wall 5 feet high and 5 feet wide between your target and the source of the attack.
In addition, make an opposed natural attack against the triggering attack. If you succeed, the attack misses its intended target.

 

TERRA PLATE

Choose one type of heavy armor. You act as though you were wearing that type of armor for the duration.

You watch the flow of elemental energy, and move to counter it.
Use this gift as a reaction to a creature using an ability with the [ground] descriptor.
Make an opposed power check with the origin of the ability. If you succeed, the effect is countered. (A power check is d20 + your key ability modifier used for the ability set from which you are using this ability + your level bonus.)

 

WALL OF STONE

You take a low stance and bring both fists up, raising the earth.
You create a wall of earth and stone, which occupies up to 5 squares, with a maximum height of 20 feet. The wall lasts for the duration of this gift.
Make a natural attack against the Reflex of each creature in the area. If you hit, you decide which side of the wall the creature ends up on it; otherwise, that creature decides which side of the wall they are on.
