William.
"What is time to I, the undying?"

William is an artilect epochent, and has experienced more of Trinity's history first-hand than nearly any other entity in existence.

William was a PC in The Toplanders.

History

As befits an epochent, William's history does not chronologically match that of Trinity.

William's construction is lost to time. It is believed that Tetra's machinations and temporal disruptions have removed the artilect's construction from the Keystone timeline, though - as an epochent - he is immune to such apparent paradoxes, much as Tetra himself. What is known is that William was among the artilects aboard the Arcturas when it crashed into the planet of the same name.

William was among those chosen by Angmar Steeltoe, the captain of the Arcturas and the benevolent dictator of the nation of Beacon, to go out into the world and discover just where the stranded inhabitants of the ship had found itself. The chronicles of those adventures can be found elsewhere, but through the course of those events, William found himself embroiled in the events surrounding Tetra and his machinations.

After the Toplanders' destruction of the avatar of Ajora, William became aware of the intense temporal disruptions emanating from Adnez. Seeking an answer to the problem of the immense temporal distortion leading to the ancient past of the time of Yuan-Terra, William used his powers of temporal manipulation to hurtle himself into the past, alerting the Saint Uriah Morodov to his actions and informing the Saint that action needed to be taken in the present.

Upon his arrival in the past, William was disrupted by an immensely powerful Blue effect, which forced his systems to reboot, a process which took several millenia. Choosing to take the slow path through history to return to the present, William involved himself in the construction of the Kiltian Pyramids, using the Lightning Pyramid as a power source with which to power himself while he recovered from his forced restart. It was in this period that he first encountered TEA agents, and was informed by Dominic - through his agents - that Tetra was the root cause of the temporal perturbations through Trinity's history.

Armed with this knowledge, William used his powers to access the Cosmic Pyramid, and through it gain access to greater and deeper understandings of the powers of Time. He now waits there for the proper time to strike at Tetra, knowing that - as an artilect with the ability to travel through time of his own accord - he has the greatest chance of all of Tetra's foes to succeed against the psionicist.

It is known that, prior to the Wrath of the Omega event, William was finally defeated by Tetra, though the precise location and even point in time of this battle is as yet unknown, and it is possible that this defeat has had temporal ramifications that have yet to be felt. In addition, it is entirely possible that, much like the god of time, Tethys, William was able to take a great many actions throughout time before his penultimate defeat; thus, it is possible that those in the future will continue to encounter him.

Qualities

As an artilect, William enjoys all the immunities that implies, including immunity to most mind-affecting Psionic effects.

William is a time-traveler, and as such is immune to paradoxes, such as the removal of his construction from the timeline.
