Originally descended from elephants and similar pachyderms, the patchpyre is an herbivore native to southern Chaliraz. Its natural ability to spout fire from its trunk initially caused significant ecological damage when the first few of these creatures were accidentally let loose in the environment, but - over time - the flora of their habitat has adapted, and the patchpyre now plays an integral role in the natural cycle of plant life, causing small wildfires that clear old growth and allow new plants to thrive.
Patchpyres are renowned for their relative intelligence, and are known to even hold grudges against individuals who have wronged them. They also seem to have an incredible memory, and this - in combination with their tendency to hold grudges - leads many teachers of would-be trainers to take care in handling the creature: once wronged, a patchpyre never forgets.
Talent
A patchpyre has the following ability.
- Blaze: While the patchpyre is critical, it gains a +1 racial bonus to the damage potency of [fire] effects.

Intelligent ephemeral plasma, rotoms are relatively rare creatures that are often given life in junkyards that are subject to lightning strikes. Essentially the essence of discarded technology given "life," rotoms are natural melancholy pranksters, interfering with functional technology as a means of interacting with individuals of a society that saw fit to abandon them during their "life" as normal technological gadgets.
Talent
A rotom has the following ability.
- Levitate: The rotom has a fly speed equal to its movement speed, and innate float.
Racial Abilities
The following are the racial abilities of all rotoms.
- Basic Attack: The rotom's basic attack deals lightning damage.
- Defenses: The rotom gains a +2 racial bonus to a single Defense of its choice (Fortitude, Reflex, Will, or Determination). Once chosen, this choice cannot be changed.
