Eidolons

Overview

The Council of the Eidolons is slightly less well-known than the Saints of The Order, and it is commonly accepted that this sub-religion grew out of Elendism. Those in touch with nature but with a stronger moral compass will often follow an Eidolon and recognize it as such, whereas someone who simply follows them would be more in-line with the Elendists.

Worship: Sanctuaries tend to be small, scattered throughout the world, rarely in highly-populated areas (save main sanctuaries). Worship of the Eidolons is unusual and considered a throwback to Elendism. Worship of the Eidolons is mildly ritualized. Each Eidolon has their own mode of worship. Eidolons are understood to represent nature and ideals, and are not considered deities proper.

Organizations: The Council of the Eidolons.

Classes: Druid, Zodiac

Prestige Classes: Summoner of the Council of Eidolons, Follower of the Council of Eidolons

The Eidolons

What follows are general overviews of each of the Eidolons.

Sellix

Title: The Wheel

Appearance: A young human woman, in the prime of her youth, carrying a ship's wheel.

Worship: Main sanctuary in Tethys, constructed of wood and made to mimic a wheel.

Titles: The Wheel

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Sellix is the guardian of beginnings. Her month is the first of the year, and she welcomes each new year with hope. Her followers are often optimistic, willing to forgive and forget, seeking out new things and new experiences.

Kotrit

Title: The Skull

Appearance: An aged, decripit old man, wielding a black oak staff.

Worship: (to be added later)

Titles: The Skull

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Kotrit is the symbol of death. Following after the beginning is the end; the skull chases the wheel through all eternity. Followers of Kotrit are rather rare; while they do worship death, they understand that death is the natural end of life. Death is not something to be feared, it is to be accepted. His followers tend to be mildly nihilistic, but others are hopeful, living each day as well they can because they know the end is not far off.

Lisylla

Title: The Flame

Appearance: A black-haired elven woman garbed in red, a ball of flame issuing from her hand.

Worship: Main sanctuary in Zasha'ar, constructed of stone and always kept alit with flaming torches.

Titles: The Flame

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Lisylla is the overseer of passion, of rage, and of all intense emotions. Her sign governs the first full month of spring, when emotions bloom. She emphasizes action over inaction, emotion over thought, instinct over rationality. Her followers are impulsive, acting with the moment, not waiting to plan - simply letting things take their course. Though sometimes feral, her followers also tend to focus on adaptability.

Zir

Title: The Diamond

Appearance: A well-dressed, well-groomed gnome male, with an air of confidence about him.

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Zir is the epitomy of self-assuredness and self-confidence, without crossing into narcissism. He and his followers are confident and sure of themselves, seemingly never surprised and always prepared. They often believe that one's attitude is reflected in one's appearance, and if one wants to feel well, then one should dress well, as well.

Tori

Title: The Squirrel

Appearance: A female vulpine, with more squirrel features than vulpine.

Worship: Main sanctuary in the Faehome.

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Governing over the first month of summer, Tori is amiable, carefree, and fun-loving. Her followers live in the moment, not with the recklessness of Lisylla or the nihilism of Kotrit, but for the sheer pleasure of experiencing existence. It matters not what one does, so long as it is fun! Her followers are also often possessed of a short attention span, always seeking the next "big adventure." Tori is rarely serious, but is often more optimistic than others.

Klanth

Title: The Eagle

Appearance: A giant eagle.

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Klanth values freedom above all else. Freedom of movement, of expression, of thought. This belief is embodied by his flight - to soar above the world, to ignore its restrictions. Followers of Klanth tend to be loners, often outspoken on their beliefs regarding a variety of topics. Of all of the Eidolons, Klanth has the fewest rituals, as he believes in the freedom of expression of faith.

Alexi

Title: The Bow

Appearance: A young elven woman with a longbow of exquisite make.

Worship: Main sanctuary in Nealma, the training ground for arcane archers.

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Always to the point, Alexi focuses on her goals. Always with a purpose in mind, she does not take action lightly, planning ahead and focusing on her desires. Her followers are often incredibly focused, difficult to budge from their chosen path, and keen on preparation and waiting for the right moment. When that moment comes, they take rapid action, leaving little undone.

Relofis

Title: The Gear

Appearance: A group of smaller, varied humanoids, varying in gender and occupation

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Relofis focuses on cooperation. Without others, nothing can be accomplished, no matter what the task at hand is. Whether it be farming, fishing, or adventuring, a single person cannot do it alone - and even if they could, it could probably be done faster, easier, or more efficiently when involving others. Relofis' followers are often mediators, attempting to make others see what they have in common to assist in cooperating with one another.

Harsyl

Title: The Mole

Appearance: A gruff, dirty dwarf, often covered in dirt and wielding a massive spanner.

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Without hard work, nothing can be accomplished. Harsyl sets his mind to a task, and works at it day and night. Though he moves slowly, the work will be solid when it is completed. His followers are often slow to move, slow to act, but they get it done right the first time. Building a firm foundation is key to accomplishing any goal.

Vardith

Title: The Tree

Appearance: A dryad, often simply at rest.

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Vardith values family and friendship. Through those we associate with, we gain strength, and can support one another through the good and the bad. Vardith's followers are rarely found abroad, as they are often more focused on the community in which they grew up, seeking to strengthen ties between people and families - with no ties to others, we wither and die. Set down your roots, then action can be taken.

Quellos

Title: The Arch

Appearance: An aged but regal woman, bearing a book filled with black ink.

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Quellos signifies the end. All things eventually end, and it is through her arch that they do so. It is not the province of Quellos to end things, but to watch over those things that have come to an end. She is what speaks to writers who continue to write a story long after it should have ended, or to bards whose songs have become too long. Her wisdom is what puts an end to a relationship that has become strained, and what sends a friend on his way after his presence has become trying. Her followers seek to ensure that all know when something's time has come, but seek to soften the blow: without ending, there can be no beginning.

Drachyus

Title: The Dragon

Appearance: A dragon of any variety.

Worship: (to be added later)

Organizations: None

Prestige Classes: None

Always visible in the night sky, watching over the world, is Drachyus, the dragon. He is the protector, the watcher, the being that ensures that all the constellations have their time in the sky in turn. Followers of Drachyus believe in order, in helping others, in ensuring that peace is maintained, be it through physical might, spoken word, or the might of the Forces. A follower of Drachyus is one who will let things take their course, to ensure that balance is maintained: anything that may upset the balance must be corrected.
