Trinity: Shattered

Welcome to the Shattered Age, the last Era of the Fourth Epoch.

The world is in chaos. The actions taken by a single man have unwoven the strands of time, leaving both the past and the future open to the machinations of those who would manipulate the world for their own ends...

...the past world of the Woodland League is thrown into disarray, as powerful magics are unleashed on the plains of the lands east of the Rynol River, turning it into a desolate wasteland...

...the past world of the ancient Ronkan Empire, caught in the strife of the pre-Exodus era, is thrown into imbalance as a small band of adventurers seeks to fight back against the invading armies of Wayverith, seeking to alter the course of time...

...the past world of the Era of Peace, in a world recovering from the Draconic Armageddon, is disrupted by a force unknown...

...the past world of the early Third Age, after the Analytic War, is attempting to recover from the catastrophe when a massive temporal distortion appears in the vast ocean south of the Hofstadt Confederacy...

...the past world of the Coldlands Territory, during the Coldlands War, in which nothing seems out of place...

...the present, the age in which Admiral X and his crew of the Phoenix destroyed the ancient dracolich Kotrit Wayveri, the mad alhoon Anabstercorian, and stopped the invading threat of the Tyranids by ending their Hive Queen; the age in which Saint Morodov led his small band and stopped the demonic invasion based on the planet Shadow and destroyed the avatar of Ajora himself; for which all seems well...

...the future world of the Greater Ronkan Alliance is utterly destroyed by an ancient creature, which seems to awaken out of nowhere...

...the strife that has struck the world is unlike any threat seen before. Those who would stand up to face this adversity must not only venture across the reaches of space, but also across time itself.

Will you be amongst those who face it?

Browser Compatibility Issues

For those of you who were using Firefox 2 and upgraded to 3, parts of this site - particularly any tables and any boxed text - may be formatted somewhat awkwardly. The author of the wiki recently made this switch, and thus is currently in the midst of fixing the formatting throughout the wiki.

Note that some older material may never receive this reformatting.

Thoughts on the Future

In post-Journey Trinity, something that I would like to do is be able to support a larger player base - that is, I don't want to be restricted to a group of 4-5 players that meet once a week. I'd like to do something a lot more open; a lot more alive.

As such, what I'm thinking right now is to set up a forum of some sort on the site here, and to have simultaneous live and play-by-post games, set in the same world, going on roughly simultaneously. This would allow for a wider variety of playstyles - for instance, we could reasonably have single-player sessions, which are not feasible in real-life due to time restrictions and such - as well as allowing for long-distance players to maintain a hand in the world, which is something that I think some folk would appreciate. PbP would also allow for more indepth NPC interactions, it would allow more time for DM prep for off-the-wall player actions, but at the cost of long response times. Running PbP games would not spell the death of live games, by any means, but it would give us a bit more variety; that, and I think that the PbP environment is a bit more generally conducive to more RP.

Post-Journey Trinity is going to be a bit of a different place, I think, and any games run are going to probably have a significantly different feel, not only due to systemic change but also due to world changes. The end of the Shattered Age will most likely usher in large amounts of change in the world, and while some of it will be the same, not all of it will be.

Also, having a forum would possibly allow for more input into the development of Journey itself, which would always be a good thing.
